e-PBL: an Institute of Excellence in the Affairs of Multiculturalism & Minority Medical Education
Dr. Richardson's Virtual Medical e-PBL Course
Medical Education has always been an integral part of the experience here at Dr. Richardson's Neighborhood Family Practice. For thirty years we have educated two generations of physicians. The future looks promising. My goal is to revamp medical education and how it is delivered. I utilize a patient based-problem focused approach to medical education that is challenging and stimulating. This approach helps student physicians to develop the critical thinking skills needed to have a successful career in medicine.
My goal in providing this vehicle for medical education is to transform the delivery of the medical science educational process into a genuine case based- problem focused curriculum utilizing the most cutting edge multimedia technology available today including high definition educational content . I hope that you find this experience to be transformational as you prepare for a career in medicine. As a consequence of this total immersion into scientific but relevant study you will be prepared for all future certification examinations throughout your medical career.
I label the course virtual because though you may not be present during an actual patient encounter, unless on clinical rotation in my office, you will participate in the clinical decision-making process as though you were there in the examination room. Patient's subjective histories and objective physical examination findings will be explored and you will embark on a virtual journey through the human body as we solve the clinical problems you will face in the real world of Family Medicine. Knowledge gained will be useful in all standardized testing situations from MCAT for premedical students to the USMLE Steps 1,2 and 3 for medical students and residents.
I am very excited to offer a Virtual e-PBL Classroom experience. Starting 2021 we will meet weekly for 2 hour sessions to discuss the 12 organ systems of the human body and how these systems relate to preparation for standardized and certification examinations. The fee will be reasonable per each ePBL session x 16 sessions. Each interactive session will last for 2 hours. You must be registered for this unique experience in medical education. Classes for MCAT/USMLE officially begin November 2024 . Classes will meet online every Wednesday and Saturday.
During this period we will cover the major organ systems including Cardiovascular, Pulmonary, Gastrointestinal, Renal, Endocrine, Nephrology, Reproductive, Musculoskeletal, Rheumatologic, Hematology/Oncology, Infectious Disease and Neurology. High Definition multimedia resources developed on site in my onsite clinical studio will be utilized to explore the basic and clinical sciences of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, pathophysiology, internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, obstetrics/gynecology, psychiatry, neurology, occupational medicine and family medicine. Our innovative Math and Medicine content is woven throughout the course emphasizing the role of advanced mathematic concepts and the practice of medicine.
Certainly what you learn in e-PBL will supplement your current medical school and residency training as you prepare for a lifetime of medical education. Our allied healthcare colleagues, advanced practice nurses and physician assistants, can also benefit from the content.
Email me at [email protected] or text me at 708-310-9309 if you would like to register. Classes are very affordable, interactive and a lot of fun. Once registered you will receive a weblink and passcode to enter the virtual e-PBL classroom.
I hope that you enjoy Dr. Richardson's Virtual Medical Education using e-PBL!
